Asean Business Advisory Council Handover Ceremony 2023
On January 30, 2023, as the President of the Cambodian Chamber of Commerce and Chairman of the Business Advisory Council 2022, I had the opportunity to deliver an online speech, transferring the position of Chairmanship of the ASEAN Business Advisory Council from Cambodia to Indonesia to Mr. Arsjad Rasjid who will be chairing the 2023 ASEAN Business Advisory Council.
The official handover ceremony was presided over by Dr. Zulkifli Hasan, Minister of Commerce of the Republic of Indonesia, and was attended by His Excellency Kao Kim Hourn, Secretary-General of ASEAN, Member of the ASEAN Business Advisory Council, ten Business Councils, along with the representatives of relevant institutions and many international guests.
There are many significant achievements made during 2022 as I was the Chairman of the ASEAN Business Advisory Council in promoting and enhancing the role of the private sector to become a good partner. I believe that it is important to participate in building the ASEAN Economic Community, despite the challenging circumstances of global economic and geopolitical issues. The Council is tasked with providing input and reporting from the private sector to help drive ASEAN's efforts towards economic integration. In addition, the Council also provided feedback on the implementation of ASEAN Economic Cooperation and proposed priority areas for consideration. The main activities of the ASEAN Business Advisory Council is to focus on identifying challenges and to facilitate and promote economic cooperation and integration.
Thanks to all stakeholders for their support, which led to many successes and achievements during Cambodia's hosting of the ASEAN Business Advisory Council.
In addition, I humbly request the full support of the Chairman of the ASEAN Business Advisory Council 2023 for the common benefit of the private sector and wish the new Chairman a success in leading the ASEAN Business Advisory Council.
