A 60-kilometer transmission line to be built on Koh Rong is scheduled to be completed in the first quarter of 2023 to provide electricity after the upcoming Khmer New Year. What is more special is that the construction of Koh Rong International Airport, Category 4C has started, this development is scheduled to be completed within 5 years.
H.E. Dr. Mao Havannal, Minister in charge of State Secretariat of Civil Aviation of Cambodia mentioned that the participation of Royal Group in this partnership shows a very positive sign for the promotion of economic growth and the sustainability of Cambodia's economic growth for the long term. In particular, the increase and the competitiveness of transport passengers and domestic and foreign goods by air in the context of regional and global economic integration.
This airport is the fourth new international airport to be invested with the participation of the private sector, after Darasakor International Airport, Siem Reap-Angkor International Airport and Techo International Airport.
